Located approximately 3 km from the hotel, this natural paradise and pride of our community offers white sand beaches, wide trails where you will find a wealth of flora and fauna (sloths, howler and white-faced monkeys, snakes, raccoons, hermits, birds, among others) and crystal clear waters ideal for snorkeling and appreciating the beautiful coral reef.
Calypso: Caribbean music
The Calypso is a happy and contagious rhythm that tells stories of the daily experiences of its interpreters known as "Calypsonians". At Cahuita we are very proud to have the greatest exponent of the Calypso from Limon: Don Walter "Gavitt" Ferguson. The Calypso is a Limonean cultural wealth and was declared an intangible cultural heritage in 2012.
In the bar / restaurants of the community center, local groups delight and cheer Cahuiteños and visitors with their calypso. In addition, every year in the month of July the International Calypso Walter Ferguson Festival is held in Cahuita. Visit us and enjoy this happy music!
Caribbean gastronomy
Other of the attractions of this beautiful area are its delicious and varied dishes, in which coconut reigns as the star ingredient. Among them are the delicious rice and beans, the cocadas, the patí and the plantintá, rondón, panbón, agua de sapo (hiel), etc. Treat yourself and try these delicious dishes!
